Some of the most meaningful brand stories are captured far beyond a traditional studio setting.
When people think of a photographer, they usually picture someone holding a camera.
What they don't picture is a laptop balanced on a folding table, editing galleries from the back of an SUV while the Texas heat tries its best to win.
They don't picture invoices being sent from a parking lot.
Contracts signed between locations.
Client galleries uploading from a hotspot.
Or blog posts being finished with the trunk of my Volkswagen Atlas serving as my office for the afternoon.
Â
The truth is, my office changes almost every day.
Sometimes it's my desk at home.
Sometimes it's a coffee shop.
Sometimes it's a gym while athletes finish training.
Sometimes it's outside a corporate job site waiting for the next phase of a project.
And sometimes it's the back of my Atlas.
As a branding and commercial photographer, that's part of the job.
Photography isn't just the hour we're creating images together. It's the planning before your session, the backups, the editing, the emails, the timelines, the marketing strategy, and making sure your images are ready to help your business grow.
If that means turning my vehicle into a mobile office, then that's exactly what I'll do.
I actually enjoy it. Even sometimes when I am at home I will get in my car and go somewhere else to edit or work if things are a little chaotic at the house.
There's something satisfying about being able to keep working wherever the day takes me instead of rushing back to a traditional office. It lets me stay productive, answer clients faster, and keep projects moving—even when life is busy.
Because running a business isn't always glamorous.
It's adapting.
Problem-solving.
Finding ways to make things work.
And showing up prepared.
So, the next time you see one of my finished images, just know there was probably a laptop open somewhere nearby, a battery charging, memory cards downloading, and a to-do list getting shorter from the back of an SUV.
Sometimes the best office isn't a building.
It's wherever the work needs you to be.
